Mission Statement
The primary objective of the Education Division
is to assure a holistic quality education for
all Maltese students within the compulsory school
age and beyond, as well as to encourage and
support life-long learning. This objective encompasses
the development of intellectual, civil, human,
ethical, social, emotional and spiritual values
and the recognition of fundamental rights and
responsibilities.
The Education Division aims at providing an
efficient and effective system of learning in
order to ensure quality education and training
relevant to the needs of the Maltese Society.
It also safeguards the right of the individual
to develop all cognitive potential, resulting
in a secure investment for the continual development
of the nation.
The Director General Education (DQSE) manages
the Academic side side of the Education
Division supported by a management
team of Directors responsible for specific
Departments. Director General Education (DQSE)
ascertains co-ordination
of policies between all Departments falling
within her responsibility.
The Director General Education (DQSE) is responsible
to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry
of
Education, Youth and Employment. The Director
General Education (DQSE) is directly accountable
to
the Minister for all matters relating to Education.
