The department supports students and researchers by granting them permission to carry out research work in state schools and on Education Division documents. It collaborates with the Dissertation Board of the University of Malta as regards choice of topics and the identification of areas of studies. The contact person in the department is the ADE (Planning, Policy, Communication & Research) and researchers are to follow a given procedure and observe certain conditions when requesting permission to do their research work. In the period November 2000 - September 2001 the department received 150 requests from students / researchers for permission to carry out research work in state schools or on Education Division documents. The research work is related to the following courses: Dip Soc. Work, Dip. Adm. & Mgt, P.G.C.E., B.Ed., B.A., B.A. Youth Studies, B.A. Social Work, B.Sc., M.Ed., M.A. and Ph.D.
