Role-play in the Religious Education of Year 5 Students
ABSTRACT of Thesis by
Jonathan Muscat

This study aims to investigate the use of drama as a teaching methodology within the local context, focusing on its implementation within the teaching of Religious Education of Year 5 students attending Primary State Schools. In the first part of the study, I will investigate the value and benefits of drama as a teaching methodology. This is followed by a study carried out within the local context. Finally, suggestions are set forth in order to help teachers use drama as a method more effectively. Besides these suggestions, I will go a step further and propose a set of 15 concrete models of educational drama activities. Such models will be designed to complement the Year 5 Religious Education current textbook ‘Lejn il-Missier 5’.
