This
Long Assignment delves into one of the most important
factors of modern librarianship: that of marketing
the library, particularly the school library.
How can school librarians make their users aware of the resources and services
that are available to them? Making an information audit of what patron needs
is is the first step. Based on these needs, we devise a marketing plan and develop
the best way to promote the library and its services.
The aim of this work is to discover what can be done in practice to make the
school library an integral part of the teaching and learning process. Reference
to existing school libraries is made, with concrete examples of what a school
library in the 21st century should be like.
