Un approccio individuale per la didattica dell’italiano L2
ABSTRACT of Thesis by
Axiaq Bernice

This study is mainly divided into two parts. In the first part I carried out 9 interviews among 4 Girls’ Secondary School teachers, 4 Boys’ Secondary School teachers and the Educational Officer of Italian L2, by means of which I identified their major problems related to the teaching of Italian oral skills and Italian culture. I also tried to identify whether the teachers know about and use teaching materials which have been included in recent B.Ed dissertations on Italian L2. The interviews were transcribed and analysed.

The second part of this study focuses mainly on a differentiated teaching approach towards Italian L2. In fact, today one of the major problems related to teaching Italian L2 is the fact that students in local classrooms have different competencies in the language because they may or may not be exposed to Italian via the media. Therefore teachers are finding it difficult to teach Italian L2 due to large classes and time management.

The outcome of these interviews are in fact the basis of a series of practical considerations which will enable teachers to be in a better position to tackle their students’ problems related to language learning.
