Promoting
the healthy development of students in educational
institutions.
Advising
school administrators, teachers, parents and
students on health aspects, diseases and problems.
Providing
information regarding health issues to schools.
Co-ordinating
the immunisation of the Staff of Special Schools
against Hepatitis B (on a voluntary basis).
Giving clinical assistance to the "Fever Unit", in the cases of children, who are sitting for the Junior Lyceum Entrance Examination.
Carrying out Head Lice Screening Programme in Primary Schools.
Inspecting schools regarding health standards and making any necessary recommendations.
Carry out regular surveys and reporting on clinics, first-aid facilities and tuckshops in educational institutions.
Organising and participating in courses for students and in in-service training for teaching grades and para-medical staff, who are interested in health matters.
Liaising between the Education Division and the Health Division.
Offering a telephone advisory medical service to Heads of Schools, Teachers, parents, etc.
