Mission Statement:
The provision of an effective social work service to all students of compulsory school attendance age in support of their education and personal growth, working within the students' educational, family and social environment.
The Main Services offered are:

Providing links between the school and home through school and home visits and the necessary intervention as and where necessary; |

|
|

|
Supporting and guiding students on personal matters, including stigmatisation, scapegoating, labelling, self-fulfilling prophecies, bullying, substance abuse, challenging behaviour and relationship difficulties. |

|
|

|
Diagnosing and providing therapy to students whose problems are related to their family or social background, bearing in mind the individual student's characteristics, needs, aspirations and potential. |
| |
|
|

|
Ensuring that the law on compulsory education is adhered to by parents, keeping track of truant pupils and reporting and prosecuting parents when required. |
| |
|
|

|
Referring students to other professionals and specialist agencies as and when required. |
| |
|
|
|

|
Participating in case conferences and inter-agency liaison meetings. |
| |
|
|
|

|
Providing the necessary support to students, parents or guardians and other family members, Heads of Schools, Teaching Staff and other stakeholders through Social Work. |

Monitoring the progress of clients referred to other agencies and services. |
| |
|
 |
Advocating on behalf of our clients. |
| |
|
 |
Preparing and presenting social reports for, and participating in, Education Court Sittings, and the Juvenile Court. |

 |
Providing consultation on relative matters to Heads of Schools, teachers and other professionals; and the Education Division. |
| |
|
 |
Supporting other agencies in community work. |
| |
|
 |
Carrying out relevant research work and preparing reports on specialised issues relating to School Social Work. |
| |
|
 |
Assessing student's eligibility to be exempted from school and offer guidance and support on the appropriateness of certain work on work places. |

|
 |
Providing talks and Social work counselling to students, parents, teachers and other stakeholders. |
