Mission Statement
The Foundation for Tomorrow's Schools aims to own, develop, build, upgrade, refurbish, maintain primary, secondary, and post-secondary schools to levels as may be required from time to time by the Education Authorities and in-keeping with the guiding principles of the National Curriculum and of the national minimum conditions enshrined in the Education Act, to efficiently and cost-effectively manage and finance their ongoing development, building, upgrading and refurbishment, and to convert them from 'Today's Schools' into 'Tomorrow's Schools'.
The FTS took direct responsibility for three school developments: the construction of a new school at Karwija, the reconstruction and refurbishment of Sir Adrian Dingli Girls Junior Lyceum and the upgrading works at Sir Temi Zammit Boys Secondary School at Mtarfa. Work on the Karwija project will commence once the FTS obtains final approval from the Planning Authority. Work on the Sir Adrian Dingli Junior Lyceum has been put on a pre-planned course toward completion over a two year period. To achieve this objective the Department of Planning and Development saw to the transfer of students in Forms I and II from Sir Adrian Dingli to Sliema Secondary, making it possible to carry out works at Sir Adrian Dingli throughout the scholastic year without disrupting lessons. This arrangement has made it feasible to complete the project planned. Upgrading works at Sir Temi Zammit Boys Secondary School were completed in record time and other works are now being scheduled in a continuous drive to convert this school into a tomorrow's school.
