The first school in Cospicua was opened in 1843. The present building dates back to 1902.
Cospicua Primary School was named "Skola Primarja Marija Immakulata" on 17th November 1999 during an official visit by H.E. Dr. Guido de Marco, President of the Republic.
Our school motto is "Always striving to improve". Ms Phyllis Falzon, Head of School is aided by a thirty-four strong teaching staff comprising assistant heads, teachers, Kindergarten assistants and facilitators. The pupil population totals nearly 450 children with ages ranging between three and eleven years.
School activities include monthly educational visits and outings for all classes as well as Mass and confessions for a different year group every month. Prize Day, a Christmas Concert, Mothers' Day Concert, Eucharistic Day and Sports Day are regular annual events in the school calendar.
Our school is also participating in Comenius Project with schools in Greece, Germany and Norway as partners.
A one-day seminar and four staff meetings annually contribute towards staff development. Monthly meetings for parents and parental skills courses are also organized and Parents' Days are held twice a year.
A Seminar for School Leavers and Recollection time for staff bring the scholastic year to an end.
