The school has a population of 172 students aged between 11 and 16 and are taught by 27 teachers.

The Subjects taught at the school are Maltese, English, Maths, Religion, Social Studies, Music . P.E. , Art, Home Economics, Needlework, Personal Core, Personal and Social Education, Craft, Computer Awareness, brama, Lace.

The staff at Fra Diego Bonanno are committed to providing a loving and caring environment to each young student. The school recognises the worth of each individual student and strives to draw out and acknowledge the best of each student.

Through encouragement and praise the School hopes to motivate and support all students no matter what difficulties they may have to face. The School believes in equipping the young students with skills for life and is dedicated to nurturing a self-confident individual who would flow into the stream of the challenging world on reaching school leaving age.
