Dun Guzepp Zerafa is a State Primary School for Kindergarten and Years 1, 2 and 3 aged 3 - 8 years. Our school is named after Dun Guzepp Zerafa, a priest in Fgura who besides looking after the spiritual needs of the people in this area, worked hard to set up a school for the children of the locality. He persuaded Rauu` Cutajar to let the Department of Education use two garages and some rooms in St Simon Str as a school. This was a temporary school, which was later replaced by the present school in 1958. The architect was Guzeppi Borg Grech. The first headmaster was Mr Emanuel Debono Decesare.

The school population consists of 273 Kindergarten pupils and 372 Primary pupils. Children are expected to be in time for the morning assembly, which takes place in the yard. During assembly school activities are announced.

School Development Plan Aims are: Early Childhood, Thematic and Integrated Approach, Importance of Learning Environment, Strengthening of Bilingualism in School and Respect for Diversity. Cultural outings are organised regularly for pupils and parents.
