Dun Frans Camilleri Primary School is situated in School Street, Hamrun right behind St. Paul's Square. It is a C primary school which includes children from Kindergarten level to Year 7. In all there are 19 classes, 20 teachers and 6 facilitators. The Head of School is Mr R Cassar and Ms M'Grace Gaff is the Assistant Head. It is named after priest, poet and photographer Dun Frans Camilleri who was born and lived in Hamrun.

The school was built during the reign of Queen Victoria. A bust of Queen Victoria and her husband Prince Albert are to be found on the two main entrances. It housed the Central School during World War II. Being close to the train depot where trains used to be repaired this could be termed as the first technical school in Malta. After the war it served as the Lyceum.

Although the school is relatively small it enjoys a happy atmosphere created by various activities such as drama and singing. Annual activities include a Christmas concert, Prize Day, an exhibition of children's work and a Farewell celebration for Year 6. Parents are always invited and are most welcome.

SPORTS The school participates in football and netball inter-primary competitions. We are proud of our football team who will be playing in the finals this year.
