The Primary School at Mtarfa was opened in 1995 to welcome the children of a new and rapidly expanding community which is made up of residents from all over Malta. It is located in a beautiful building which is over 100 years old and which used to serve as Officer's Mess of the British Army stationed at Mtarfa. The school is named after Dr. Godwin Ganado who was a Minister of Education. Over 200 students now attend this school which has a Kindergarten centre and classes from Year 1 to Year 6. Ever since it was opened the school has realized its mission of being instrumental in uniting the new community of Mtarfa and giving it an identity of its own.
