Sir Temi Zammit school was originally built by the British Services as a naval hospital. The marble plaque which is fixed on the façade says that the foundation stone was laid in 1915 by His Excellency, General Sir Leslie Rundle.

This building was converted into a secondary school towards the mid-eighties and the first students came from Naxxar Secondary School which had just closed down. At first, the school admitted students in forms three, four and five; but after a year or two, when B'Kara Secondary School also closed down, the school admitted students in forms one and two.

Sir Temi Zammit School has extensive grounds and on the north side it enjoys fantastic country and sea views. It is quite spacious and we have a number of amenities: a hall, gym, four laboratories, two computer labs and a home economics room. The technology education workshop which has just been refurbished, is one of the biggest and most modern on the island.

Mr. Harry Saliba was the first head teacher of Sir Temi Zammit Boys' Secondary School. Other head teachers were: Mr. Paul Camilleri, Mr. N. Farrugia, Mr. Valletta, Mr. Abel Giglio, Mr. Paul Attard, Mr.Anthony Azzopardi.
