Zabbar Primary School B is named after Dr Frans Chetcuti, a former Headmaster at this school and a former Director of Education.

The school caters for 543 pupils in Years 4, 5 and 6. The staff is made up of 1 Head of school, 3 Assistant Heads, 23 teachers, 2 Kindergarten Asst. ( Special Needs) 3 Secretarial staff and 7 General Hands.

The school had a School Development Plan for the last 3 years but a new has been drawn up which is incorporateing the new targets for the new National Curriculum.

Policy Statements have regards School Management , Daily Routines, Education beyond the Classroom, Assessment and Record Keeping, Discipline and Bullying and the Induction of Newly Appointed Teachers have also been adopted.

The atmosphere at the school is very satisfactory although an improvement towards its ethos is desirable. The school building needs modernization to bring it in line with modern primary schools in Malta. Efforts towards this aim have already been started . We plan to turn the school corridors into teaching areas and to modernize the toilets. The school will also be embellished with curtains , indoor plants and pictures.

The school boasts a very successful rate of passes at the Junior Lyceum Entrance Exams although it recognizes that this is not its ultimate aim. We all strive hard to give a holistic and good quality education to all children entrusted to us.
