Francis Ebejer Primary School 'B' at Zurrieq is incorporated within premises that cater for another 2 schools: Zurrieq Primary 'A' and the Zurrieq Boys' Secondary School. No actual physical boundaries exist and as such the main entrance is used by the 3 schools.
Francis Ebejer Primary School 'B' occupies part of the ground Floor - 2 classrooms and the yard, and a substantial part of the First Floor - another 13 classes. On the First Floor there are also 3 administration offices (1 for the Head of School and 2 for the Assistant Heads of School), a Staff Room which is also used as a Resources Room, a clinic which is also used as a Printing Room, a Caretakers' Handyman' s Room, and communal toilet rooms for girls, boys and the staff.
Francis Ebejer was Head of this school for quite a few years. He was renowned for his discipline and understanding.
In the field of literature he stands high among local authors. He is remembered mostly for his novels and plays (both for the stage and television). His poetry is also worth mentioning. His works have been published both in Malta and abroad.
The school facade, although rather monumental in appearance, is in an acceptable condition. The Local Council has lately (1997) embellished the garden which is to be found at the front of the school. Apart from bettering the general appearance of the school frontage, this garden has created a sort of a buffer zone between the noisy main road that leads into Zurrieq village centre and the school itself, which needs to be a relatively quiet area. However, this buffer zone does not completely eliminate noise caused by traffic because classroom windows have to be left open for ventilation and to reduce excessive heat during hot days in late spring and early summer.
Besides, the front garden provides ample sunny and shady sitting areas where parents can wait for their children while going into and coming out of school. This garden is well looked after and has instilled in the children the love for nature. In fact, little vandalism occurs.
