As a member of the European Parent
Association (EPA), for the past years, the Association
of School Councils in Malta (AKS) has been participating
in the European Day for Parents in Schools. Over
70 schools from all over Malta and Gozo have taken
part in last year’s event, where every school
chooses its own way of celebrating this day with
one topic in mind – the active participation
of parents in the schools.
This year, being the first year of Malta’s
full membership in the EU, AKS is thinking of
organizing a steering committee with representatives
from the three main political parties in Malta
(PN, MLP, AD), the Malta Union of Teachers (MUT),
the Foundation for Educational Services (FES)
the Education Division, the Youths Department
and the Association of Parents of Children in
Church Schools (APCCS) who together with AKS can
help in making this event even more special.
